Virve worked as a project manager for the Lämpiö project, where she successfully directed the project in collaboration with various partners from the ecosystem.
The project included extensive qualitative and quantitative research on the needs and behaviours of the target audience. To ensure inclusivity, the research was conducted in three different languages.
The high- quality research played a key role in planning market dialogues with different stakeholders and provided deep insights for the conceptualisation of the Lämpiö project, particularly from a user-centered perspective in developing the digital platform.

I met Virve in an employment training program called Digipore. The idea of the program was to do matchmaking of international talents with the right employer. It was not only a job searching opportunity but it included a three months technology learning program as well from leading trainers of the industry. So basically she was running a project to first enable a group of people with latest tools and technology and then find companies who want such talent and get them employed.
She assisted first in the preparation to get into the program. This included a few rounds of technical tasks as well as interviews. After which members of the group were selected and I was also part of the group. After that she was assisting me to find the right technology courses that would enhance my knowledge and skills that would be relevant to the market trends. She was arranging courses that would help us do exactly that. My background was from IT but due to the vast areas of technology, I also needed a lot to learn and that also included finding the right companies for me according to my background and qualifications. Virve helped me in that also.
After the 3 months program she arranged a 2 days CV building, pitch learning program. This also included sessions where different companies will showcase the work they are doing and also matchmake people from our group for the jobs they are offering. I got a job from such a company.
My career has changed since I met her. I was unemployed at the time and due to the huge diaspora of technologies that were available to learn, I was a bit lost and had no guidance. Virve provided me with that guidance. I found a job with a company in Espoo as a Fullstack developer. This company was also part of the matchmaking event arranged by Virve. I work with that company almost 4 years. Now I am working as a Chief Technology Officer in another company.

Throughout my involvement in the DigiPore project, Virve’s assistance was instrumental in facilitating my transition into a role that aligned with my professional background and qualifications. Specifically, leveraging my expertise in software development and academic background, I successfully passed the entrance exam, granting me eligibility to pursue further studies in software development with Soprano in Helsinki. Virve’s guidance enabled me to navigate the process effectively and seize this opportunity.
As a result of Virve’s assistance and the opportunities provided through DigiPore, my career progression has been significantly enhanced. Through studying with Soprano and the internship opportunities facilitated by Virve, I’ve been able to apply and further develop my skills in a practical setting, ultimately contributing to my professional growth and advancement within the field of software development.
